I aim to freeze genuine moments and milestones. I stray away from stiff, traditional poses, opting instead for the magic found in-between. To craft those authentic and artistic shots, I embrace a variety of creative prompts and techniques, keeping my clients in constant motion and laughter throughout our time together. Color is a key element in my work - think vibrant, bold, and natural tones that bring each image to life. I shoot primarily digital with a little 35mm film mixed in.
I'm based in Concord, New Hampshire but my camera takes me across New England and beyond to capture my clients. One of my favorite parts of this job is all the traveling I get to do!

When I'm not behind the camera, I'm either spending time with my fiancé Josh and our dogs, Goose & Belle or reading! Fantasy and thrillers are my favorite.

"Jon and I had been engaged for about a year when we discovered Carly. She was recommended by our wedding planner along with one other choice. After delaying our wedding once due to tragically losing my mom to ALS, I knew our wedding would be especially emotional for ourselves and our family members. It was extremely important to us that we find a photographer who could capture our day, tell the story of our love, and document the emotions of our friends and family. After speaking with Carly and looking at her portfolio, we knew immediately that her authenticity and creativity were a perfect fit for us.
Carly drastically exceeded our expectations. Jon and I were unable to schedule an engagement shoot due to illness, and so we met Carly in person for the first time on our wedding day. We are both exceptionally introverted people, and I personally have a lot of insecurities that make me feel uncomfortable in front of the camera. Despite this, Carly’s genuine, kind personality, and creative prompts, made me feel immediately at ease. My favorite photo was captured when Jon and I were holding each other close, and Carly instructed us to “list the colors we see in each other’s eyes.” My eyes have many colors in them, but Jon’s are just brown, so at first I was stumped, but then I quickly realized there were many different ways to describe the color brown. “Brown, brown, brown…. Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, mocha, coffee.” Pretty soon, all 3 of us were giggling!
Carly was punctual and professional throughout our time working together, so it came as no surprise when we received our sneak peek photos within 5 days of our wedding. We were, however, surprised and touched by the addition of 2 short videos of our most anticipated wedding moments. We had decided not to hire a videographer, and yet still, just a few days after our wedding, we found ourselves watching our first kiss and journey back up the aisle as husband and wife. Tears were in our eyes that day. Carly is not only extremely talented and professional, but she is also kind and compassionate and clearly cares deeply about each individual love story she photographs.
When we received our final photos, we were in awe! Our wedding day was the best day of our lives, and Carly’s photographs perfectly documented every memory. We scrolled through every photo multiple times, exclaiming “that is SO us!” And now we are left with a good problem, out of hundreds of favorite photos, how do we choose just 1 or 2 to hang on our wall?!

I also felt that her including engagement photos in her pricing was a great idea – it is something I wasn’t really looking for, but it was certainly a value-add to meet her before the wedding and get some wonderful shots of me and my husband!
